The final cable rating and viewership estimates for last night’s episode of iMPACT Wrestling on Spike TV are now available. The numbers show that last night’s episode increased the show’s estimated viewership numbers, but still came up a few hundredths of a point lower than last week. Last night’s episode of the show scored a final cable rating of 1.23 which represented about 1,730,000 viewers over the course of the show’s two hours.
Last night’s final rating is 0.06 of a point lower, but approximately 28,000 more viewers than last week’s episode, which scored a final cable rating of 1.29 with an average audience of 1,702,000 viewers.
When we know more about how last night’s show scored hour-by-hour, we’ll post it here so check back on Monday! Last night’s episode of iMPACT Wrestling on Spike TV had more total viewers than prime time and late night programming on other cable channels with a national audience including MTV, FX, the Cartoon Network, A&E, Comedy Central, WE, Tru TV, the Food Network, TBS, and HGTV – among others.
It is also worth noting that the show’s total viewership is hard to estimate. This is because DVR+3 figures (the amount of people who watch the show on their DVR within three days of recording it) usually adds about 200,000 more viewers in addition to the viewership number reported above. Plus, Spike.com uploads each full episode of iMPACT Wrestling to its website for free online streaming for a three month period. The online streaming versions of the show typically generate about 20,000 views before they are taken down (some episodes have many more viewers, others have less). However, there is no way to know whether or not DVR or online viewers are part of the original viewership estimate, so these figures are rarely reported by wrestling websites (but they’re still good to know!).

Even though the hate sites might try to make this out to be bad news because of the seven hundredths of a point decline in the final ratings number, the fact remains that the increased viewership means more eyeballs on the product. And that’s always good news!

These numbers are great. I have a feeling TNA is about to make another significant viewership jump, the viewership has been consistently high.
I think they need to possibly tweak the roster slightly with some new blood, whether it be some unknown talent or some names.
TNA has proven it can re-invent guys, Bully Ray is a great example. He was a known quantity and everyone pretty much thought they knew what they were getting with him and by and large I think he has been transformed into a very good character.
Introducing some new blood and further developing guys on the roster is a must. I personally am enjoying TNA more than I have in a long time.

I’ve read a few dirt sheet reports in this past on topics such as this. They will often mention the rating falling, but never say anything at all about the overall viewership increasing. Pathetic.
Glad to see the more eyes are watching though. Also a good thing to know that the rating didn’t go way back down to the 1.1’s again.

Its already started. They’ve just posted that article, but no mention of the increase in viewership. Just the decrease in the rating. Sad.
William B. West says
And you can bet if the viewership decreased but the rating was higher the whole article would have focused on the viewership decrease and it would have been dismissive about the rating climb.

If we’ve written it here once, we’ve written it a thousand times – be careful where you get your “news” from on the internet. Sure, we all know that these folks tell half-truths regarding iMPACT Wrestling ratings, but what gets me is all of the fabrication and conjecture in the other stories.
Joe Vincent says
Revised up to a final rating of 1.23 from a 1.22.
