TNA Wrestling’s iMPACT! program continues to dominate the pro wrestling ratings in the United Kingdom according to the latest report from the Broadcast Audience Research Board .
The initial broadcast of WWE’s flagship program Monday Night RAW on SkySports drew in 146,000 television viewers, TNA’s flagship program iMPACT! on ChallengeTV had a viewership of184,000 viewers.
Clearly the wrestling fans in the UK know what they want and that is TNA Wrestling.

“Clearly the wrestling fans in the UK know what they want and that is TNA Wrestling.”
That’s a completely flawed argument. TNA airs on a free channel, whereas RAW airs on a subscription channel.
William B. West says
So Robin, is it your position that WWE cannot claim the viewership crown in the US because USA Network is available in many more homes than SpikeTV? Or USA Network has a stronger set of programs in which to advertise RAW than Spike? Or the fact that WWE has a larger budget than TNA? Of course not. There are hundreds of variables. If you are going to point out only the variables in TNA’s favor than you need to point out the hundreds in WWE’s favor. At the end of the day more fans watch TNA in the UK than WWE. Period.
Joe says
And in addition to William’s comments, I’m pretty sure that when iMPACT! was on the subscription channel it still had a higher viewership in the United Kingdom. Do any of our friends across the pond know if that is true?
matt says
When TNA used to air on bravo I used to watch it on a weekly basis. Considering that Bravo was not a freeview channel I still used to tune in regardless of the channel. Now the Bravo Channel has been pulled from the Sky Network, TNA has been placed on Challenge. I still watch it every week. As long as TNA is broadcasted I will watch it on which ever channel.
radditz says
@Robin TNA were beating WWE in the UK when they were on Bravo. A subscription channel. But of course, people will always ignore that.
radditz says
And yes Joe. It is true (I’m from the UK). 🙂
Joe says
Thanks for the confirmation, radditz. I thought it was true that TNA was beating WWE in the UK even before the channel change, but you know how we do it here at TNAStars.com – we love confirmation of our stories!

You people trying to defend tna getting better ratings then wwe is completely stupid they are marginally better and the thing is sky sports is a premium service that you have to pay extra like 15-20 euro a month extra to see there content, also bravo and challenge tv are part of the basic sky subscription so your paying for the bare minimum compared to a premium service so if wwe was on free tv it would double maybe even triple the ratings tna gets similar to what it does in the states. And to even say from an atheistic appraisal that tna is better then wwe is completely retarded too. Lets see how many people will watch tna if it was on a premium service lol.
Robin Scannell says
“So Robin, is it your position that WWE cannot claim the viewership crown in the US because USA Network is available in many more homes than SpikeTV?”
The viewing figures are much closer in the UK than in the USA, so obviously the accessibility to the channel should be looked at when the ratings are so close and when they are so different from the United States’ ratings.
As for when the show aired on Bravo, Bravo was the equivalent of a basic cable channel whereas the Sky Sports channels are part of a separate package (as I understand it). I don’t know the specific pattern of ratings or the percentage of homes that the channels are in, so I’m not making any conclusions.
William B. West says
Robin as you seen above TNA was beating WWE prior to the switch as well.
I understand you are a passionate WWE fan and can understand that you have trouble accepting TNA is more popular than WWE on UK TV. But facts are facts.
Robin Scannell says
“Robin as you seen above TNA was beating WWE prior to the switch as well.”
Well, I’ve seen someone say that, I’ve not seen the numbers. Also, I’ve explained about the channel it aired on.
“I understand you are a passionate WWE fan and can understand that you have trouble accepting TNA is more popular than WWE on UK TV.”
You shouldn’t make such assumptions. There’s nothing to accept. I didn’t deny that more people watch the initial airing of iMPACT than the initial airing of Raw. I just questioned the non-neutral wider generalisations that were made.
Robin Scannell says
Nonetheless, we can agree to disagree. 🙂

back to the argument of barvo being a pay to view channel u get bravo with a million and 1 other channels for around £10??? were as sky sports alone is like £25 and would u subscribe for it if u dont like sports or just cos ya kids wana watch wrestling? mmmmmmmmmm more likely to have barvo than sky sports???? me thinks so

tna needs to stop having so many people in audience who look like from south America were there sister is there mum and wife and maybe not have some chips Writing story lines
uk still loves the wwe but can assure u losing love slowly and u guys only beating the ratings cos ya on free view and the English love to laugh at u stupid fuking yanks and evan more so the in-bread type lol

Every single report – for months now – on the United Kingdom ratings has included a lengthy discussion of the paid versus free issue. You can read the latest report here:

As for the other comments – I have no idea what you’re talking about, but good luck to you.
William B. West says
I don’t believe there is a “Barvo” channel on freeview either.
