A variety of popular internet wrestling website are copying and pasting a story about Team 3D being re-signed by TNA Wrestling. Specifically, the story they are copying and pasting suggests that unnamed “sources” within the company are frustrated about Team 3D being signed to new contracts and that they are putting the blame for the frustration on Dixie Carter.
There is, of course, no independent confirmation of this news and the websites that are copying and pasting this information are the same ones that report a “fact” one day and then report the exact opposite of that “fact” two weeks later (see the Rhino story from earlier today).
I can only speak on this topic as a fan of TNA Wrestling and a long-time fan of professional wrestling and give you my opinion. And my opinion is that this tag team probably didn’t need to be re-signed since I can’t point to anything spectacular that they’ve done in over a decade (although putting May Young through a table after jumping off the stage at RAW a few years ago was amazing). In any event, if there is any independent confirmation that there is unrest in TNA Wrestling because of this team being re-signed, we’ll report it here first.
Exactly. The Rhino story was one of many that I’ve read at many sites that frustrated me. It’s things like that that give Matt Hardy ammo in his videos against the dirtsheets. Not that Matt is wrong, I just wish many sites would stop reporting SPECULATION as FACT only to RETRACT it when their proven wrong, knowing they probably were when they reported it in the first place.
As for Team 3D…I’m really 50/50. They’ve done it all. Even the rumored split, they’ve done in WWE. Part of me is glad their staying, while the other part wishes they would have taken the money they offered them and signed a few guys from the indy scene. TNA has been fond of using talent from Team 3D’s wrestling school as well, and frankly, I’ve yet to see anyone with quality go from their school to TNA TV. I believe Rob Terry is a graduate as well as Rosie Lottalove, who accidentally injured Daffney, was hired, then let go after I believe 1 or 2 appearances.
