Some of you may have heard that Connecticut election officials are being given the ability to turn voters away at the polls if they are wearing WWE merchandise. The reason for this ruling is because the former WWE CEO, Linda McMahon, is running for one of the open United States Senate seats in Connecticut and election officials believe that wearing WWE merchandise is a form of promoting McMahon’s campaign.
Unbelievable, right?
As you might imagine, this utterly ridiculous ruling has a variety of people up in arms on both sides of the political aisle. For example, current TNA Wrestling star and former WWE Champion Mick Foley made the following comment on his Twitter account:
“Just read that voters in Conn may be asked to remove or cover up WWE merch at polls on Nov 2. Thought this was America.”
Here’s hoping that someone wakes up the election officials in Connecticut.
