Between work and Halloween yesterday was quite a busy day for me. No I didn’t go trick or treating but we had a lot of kids through out the afternoon and evening and I didn’t want to start a column and have to keep stopping to get the door, so that’s why this is a day late. Normally this would be a Raw column, but since I wasn’t that impressed with Monday’s show I’m going to keep my Raw thoughts short and go into a few rumors that are out there. But back to Raw, I’m very glad that I was at Raw last week because compared to this week’s show my Raw was not only a strong show, but it built up Cyber Sunday much better than what we saw Monday night.
With the exception of two matches, Randy Orton vs. Triple H and Carlito vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Johnny Nitro I wasn’t too thrilled by any of the other matches that Raw gave us. I was happy about Lita winning and meeting Mickie for the Women’s Title at Cyber Sunday. I enjoyed the enthusiasm that Ric Flair had for his buddies, Sgt. Slaughter, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Dusty Rhodes, and I really liked Cryme Tyme this week and their match against Charlie Haas/Viscera wasn’t bad, but let’s face it with JTG, Shad and Haas, Vis just kind of slows things down. But other than what I’ve mentioned, Raw did a horrible job setting up two top feuds for Sunday’s pay per view. While I have totally been into King Booker showing up each with along with Big Show to make things interesting in their Cyber Sunday match against John Cena this week Booker, and Big Show didn’t make one dent in this feud. I was very disappointed how they had Coach (who got the most votes) vs. John Cena as the main event. This was a match if you want to call it that which should have been done in the second hour instead of ending the show. This was all very disappointing to me.
I was also quite disappointed that Shawn Michaels was missing. While I thought Orton and Hunter put on a nice match, and I especially liked the opening with Hunter’s “are you ready” and Edge taking a mic to his head. But Hunter, Edge and Orton were too subdued for me. Even though Edge opened the show with Vince, Eric Bischoff and Coach to hype the vote for who should ref, it all fell flat. Watching Raw Monday night was like a show just going through the motions. I expected so much more and got very little. Will I order Cyber Sunday even though the push for the show was weak? Sure I will, but after this week’s Raw I’m thinking I’m paying for a Raw show and nothing more, but hey you never know. It could turn out to be much better than what I’m expecting. But I’ll leave Raw and go to two big rumors that are out there.
The big rumor is about Lita leaving WWE right after the Survivor Series. Now for months I think most of us have read that Lita is leaving and leaving on good terms. The latest that is out there is that she wants to pursue an acting career and because she lives in Atlanta it’s possible that TNA could get her in the near future. While I’m glad that they finally have Lita wrestling again, it’s not enough, and being Edge’s slutty sidekick might have been okay at the beginning but the whole thing wore out very very fast. I’m still big on Edge being on his own, I think he shines as one of the best heels in the business when Lita isn’t out there with him. So having her leave now in one way seems right. But I have to say when Lita hit the scene with Essa Rios I was crazy about her and I liked her teaming up with the Hardy’s. For a while Lita brought a lot to the WWE. But maybe it’s time for her to leave there’s always a chance she could return. So let’s see what happens and how it plays out in the next several weeks.
Now I found this rumor to be very fascinating. One of my friends told me that he heard and he didn’t say from where that at Cyber Sunday, Cena is going to lose his title to Booker T. Booker then will take it to Smackdown and at the Survivor Series it will be Cena vs. Booker. Cena will then win the WWE title and World Title from Booker. Okay from there, the winner of the Royal Rumble can choose which title he wants to go for against Cena at Wrestlemania 23. That’s quite a rumor isn’t it? Now I have no idea where he heard this from and I don’t know if I even believe it, but hey who knows. In a way I could see it, because it’s another way to take the belt from Cena for a short time and then give it right back to him. This way it’s like he hasn’t had the belt for 10 years straight, if you get my drift. I would say anything is possible and this is definitely something to think about. I’ll leave you with Psicosis has officially been released by WWE it’s on their site and I have another request from a reader, and again let me thank you all for helping me out. I always get great feedback from the readers saying how helpful you all are. I will be back over the weekend with Cyber Sunday thoughts and predictions. Here’s the request. Where can my reader get old original ECW DVDs, and other DVDs like Eddies, Foley’s etc? He used to buy the DVDs at Wal-Mart but he doesn’t know if they sell older DVD’s.
