Smackdown was good not as good as it has been in the last few weeks but good. At times the show dragged for me but the matches that were given to us came off very well. Unfortunately most of these matches were too short but still good. So let me give you thoughts on the show. Also before I forget, I want to thank you again for helping out with reader requests. I cannot tell you how you guys always come through and that means a lot to me. Okay now on to Smackdown
You all know I knock Mark Henry like crazy. But I HAVE given him credit as of late. Sure he really doesn’t show too much in the ring as far as wrestling moves go, but he has definitely stepped up as the top heel and destroyer on Smackdown and the opening with Henry taking out Chavo and Rey Mysterio worked for me. Probably because it kept Henry’s violent streak going, and all of this is a great way to get Batista involved. So thumbs for a good opening. The first match of the night was right up my alley. Gregory Helms vs. Super Crazy for the Cruiserweight Title. I loved this match and this is one of the matches that I wish would have been a lot longer. I just wish Vince would let this division shine each week. Maybe with Velocity gone we will start seeing more focus on this group. As I said a very good match and Psicosis interfering came off well. It’s ashame WWE feels the need to break up good tag teams but as I said before I would love to see a feud with Psicosis vs. Crazy.
So one tag team is done a new one starts. We got a look at the Pit Bulls last night with Jamie Noble and Kid Kash. Of course they debuted against two jobbers so I don’t think we really got to see what these two can do. Hopefully we will see them against London and Kendrick and then will see some great work by all four guys. So now we have a Krystal heel turn after last years winning diva Ashley seemed to innocently piss her off. I guess there’s a feud brewing here which might be good because I really do believe Krystal worked on learning how to wrestle. Hey speaking the diva’s I never want to say this again but MIZ has to go. I new he would be this way, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Well forget that. He’s annoying, obnoxious and I promise you I’m done, I will not say a word about him, because I don’t want to even acknowledge this guy. It’s sad when he can’t produce in the ring yet Vince still keeps him. It’s not like he’s needed or brings a thing to the shows. So I’m done. Now on to more pleasant subjects. Matt Hardy was on Smackdown again, and he wrestled my favorite Smackdown heel Finlay.
I liked this match, and then again I like having Hardy in the ring with someone as good as Finlay. I thought this one of the top matches of the night, and I got a kick out of the Little Bastard popping up from under the ring to toss JBL a beer. Just something that little and no I don’t mean the Little Bastard I mean just him smiling and tossing that beer to JBL was great humor. In fact he looked a little loopy to me with that smile. But this was a very good match and I believe the next one would have been right up there had it been longer. And I’m talking about Gunner Scott vs. Mr. Kennedy…..Kennedy. This was too short for me to really get into but I think Scott would make a good opponent for Mr. Kennedy. I could see this being a feud that would hold our interest. There really are no words to describe The Great Khali taking out Scott and imitating Taker. No words at all. And Vito vs. Simon Dean was rather humorous. All of a sudden Vito not only wears dresses but now he has a bounce in his step. Wow this guy was all over the place showing his thigh, picking up his dress and smiling the whole time. I thought Dean was a riot then way he kept pulling Vito’s dress down to cover his bare ass. This was one freaky match.
The main event cage match with Lashley vs. Booker T was good. I liked it but really the cage didn’t add too much to this. I think this should be the end of this feud for awhile. Both of these men now need to move on. As I said a good Smackdown but not as good as what I’ve seen. I’m very excited about Batista’s return next week and it would be nice if Taker would start showing up before the Great American Bash, but I’m starting to think he’ll return at that pay per view. Okay I will be taking next week off, but I’ll be back on Tuesday the 11th. There is an item that just came out that Trish Stratus’s contract is up in August and she may not be back. She’s getting married in September. One site says she’ll take time off another says that might be it once the contract is up. Wow I would have to see her go, I’m sure more will come out about this. I will leave you with, yes another request. Could you ask your readers if they taped ECW this past Tuesday night? I taped the first two and I was planning on filming all of them, but I couldn’t get to tape it because my sister had her 2nd child. If they did they can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
