Before I get to my Unforgiven predictions, I just wanted to tell you that I did plan on doing a Smackdown column yesterday. However I totally forgot that I had to go to a meeting for work and after than I partied like it was 1999. It was my husband’s birthday and his twin sisters so from the meeting we went out. I felt bad because I totally loved Smackdown Friday night. Since there isn’t a column on it I just wanted to say that I thought Eddie Guerrero stole the show with his “new” attitude. And the way JBL came off after his loss to Rey was excellent. Instead of him being that arrogant tough ass, he came off like a broken man. Like a man that was lost and didn’t know where to turn. Those two things really stuck out in my mind. Smackdown again came off better than Raw; at least WWE gave me one show that entertained me this week. Okay now onto my picks for Unforgiven. I will not be ordering it tonight. I’m not saying it’s the right decision but as much as I feel badly about missing a Raw pay per view, I do feel that I’m doing the right thing. Again I’m getting a lot of your predictions, so keep them coming and I will get to all of them I promise. Let me share with you my picks and there’s only two that I really feel could go either way.
Shelton Benjamin vs. Kerwin White.
This is one of the matches that just doesn’t seem that obvious to me. While I feel Chavo, oh excuse me, Kerwin should win since he’ll cheat, it just seems like Shelton hasn’t won anything in so long. He’s been on not only a losing streak but stuck with mid carders. At least Kerwin should give Shelton a run for his money. Granted I expected a lot more from their match last Monday, but I’m sticking to my belief that White and Benjamin can tear it up in the ring. I really hope to read that this match came off very well. I’m going with Shelton but as I said I think this match could easily go to Kerwin
Winner: Shelton Benjamin
Trish and Ashley vs. Victoria and Torrie
I think Vince has to be careful about throwing Ashley in here to much, since she hasn’t been trained properly. So I’m hoping that this match turns out to be more of Trish vs. Victoria. I am going with Trish and Ashley because of the return of Trish Stratus. I think they need to give her a victory. I will be honest with you if Trish and Victoria don’t dominate this one, I can’t imagine the match being all that terrific. But hopefully it will be short and the women will give the fans something to cheer about.
Winners: Trish and Ashley
The Hurricane and Rosey vs. Cade and Trevor Murdoch for the Tag Team Titles
I think this is a given. Cade and Murdoch are Vince’s newest project and I cannot see them losing. And lets be honest since Helms and Rosey became Tag team champs really how often did they defend that title? And trust me I’m not blaming them at all. No I blame the WWE for killing the tag team division. And because of that Hurricane and Rosey had nothing to work with. I unfortunately missed Monday’s match with Murdoch and Cade because my cable went out, I’m bringing that up because I don’t know what these two guys will bring to this match. I have to admit this is one match I would like to see out of curiosity. I would love to know if this new tag team “HAS IT.”
Winners: Cade and Murdoch
Big Show vs. Gene Snitzky
Oh I will keep this short. I’m going with Big Show. BUT, it would not surprise me to see him lose to Snitzky. There have been rumors going around that Show wants some time off. So maybe Snitzky wins, and then he’ll beat up Big Show which in turn would give Show time off due to “injuries.” But I will stick with the Big Man. See I kept it short.
Winner” Big Show
Edge vs. Matt Hardy In A Steel Cage Match
Now I would like to see this match. There is no doubt in my mind that Edge and Matt are going to go all out in this one. This HAS to be the match that Matt finally wins. This will prove that Vince isn’t burying Matt, like so many of the fans feel. It would be a big victory for Hardy. Now if he should lose than I will join those fans and say Matt Hardy never had a chance. Vince wasn’t going to let him forget about all the problems he caused rallying his M’Fers against Vince and WWE. I’m 100 percent sure that this could be the match of the night, at least one of the best of the night.
Winner: Matt Hardy
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Masters
Last month at Summer Slam, even though I’m not into Hulk Hogan I just knew that Shawn would do everything he could to make their match outstanding, and he did. Unfortunately I don’t have the same feeling about his match against Masters. Shawn is going to have to do magic to make this worth watching, and I don’t know if he can do it. I have no faith in Chris Masters at all. I feel this push was too soon and totally undeserved. This is one of the reasons I have no desire to order the show. Masters is the same Masters that has been pushed down our throats on a regular basis and has shown me nothing. Even against HBK this guy is a blah. I would love it if he proves me wrong and this match turns out to be really good. I’m going with HBK for the win, and hopefully he breaks that damn Masterlock. I would love to think that after tonight that’s the end of the big push for Masters, but I have a bad feeling that this won’t be done after tonight.
Winner: HBK
Ric Flair vs. Carlito for the Intercontinental Championship
Now this is cool. Carlito has a match against on legend on a pay per view. Again this is a match that I wish I could see. I feel Ric will be THE MAN out there and really put Carlito over. This should be a fun match and a very entertaining one. Carlito will win, but of course he will have to find a way to do it and we all know that it won’t be a clean win. Ric Flair has been super this past month in this program with Carlito and I see him given even more tonight in this match.
Winner: Carlito
Kurt Angle vs. John Cena for the WWE Title
I know these two had a very good much at No Way Out because I saw it. Kurt Angle killed himself out there I will never forget it. And because of that he got something good out of Cena. So I would think this match will come off very well. I’m just not thrilled with John Cena since he came to Raw, and really since he turned face. He does nothing for me in or out of the ring. But it’s going to be Angle that saves this match and ends the show on a positive note. While Angle will shine it’s going to be Cena that again leaves with the title. Believe me as I’ve said before he’s Vince’s number one main stream media guy right now, he’s not taking that title from him, at least not yet.
Winner: John Cena
I guess you can tell just by reading this that my enthusiasm isn’t really that strong over this show. I’m hoping many of you will email me and tell me what you thought of the show. There is nothing that I would love more than to find out that it was outstanding and that I really missed something. I will be checking results regularly, and for those of you that will be at the show live or ordering it ENJOY it. And Tuesday I’ll be back to talk about Raw. Okay I have another question from a reader so anyone that can help him out thank you and you’ll be able to email him with your information.
