Where have I been? Here’s where — SUMMERSLAM COVERAGE
Let’s get to the news…
On the Sky 1 version of WWE Afterburn, they just announced today that Billy Kidman, Paul London, Rey Mysterio vs. The Dudleyz has been added to the SummerSlam card. Take this for what it’s worth.
WWE had Nova work as “Simon Dean” at the RAW house show in Trenton, NJ last night. Many believe that was done as a rib to WWE agent Dean Malenko, who was present at the show and whose real name is Dean Simon. As far as Nova goes, nothing much has changed, he’s still on the road with the RAW roster, and is expected to be called up soon.
SmackDown scored a 3.3 rating this past week, off of hours 3.2 and 3.4.
I am having a hard time understanding/believing these numbers, but here are the latest PPV buys from WWE’s site:
# Judgment Day: 205,000 buys.
# Bad Blood: 240,000 buys
# Great American Bash: 230,000 buys
# Vengeance: 220,000 buys
The now infamous “Maxx Payne” movie is talked of being released yet again! The former WWF wrestler is plugging his flick (a documentary of what goes on behind the scenes, filmed during his WWF years) once again on the site. You can find out more information HERE.
WWE released their PPV schedule from here on until the end of 2005. The things of note are that California will get both Royal Rumble and WrestleMania next year — something that I don’t remember taking place in a long time. Also, there’s an added show in January, which will be live from Puerto Rico. Here’s the schedule:

RAW scored a 3.8 rating last week, an improvement from last week. This is the show’s average this season, but a 3.8 would be considered something solid these days. Sad.
WWE.com, in a tremendous move in my opinion, tried to do something Monday night by uploading several backstage videos from RAW. They had Todd Grisham go around and film several segments, including an interview with Evolution with their thoughts on SummerSlam, as well as a short interview with Diva Search contender Camille who was eliminated. The cameras were also backstage when William Regal was getting stitches, and elsewhere Grisham got a word from Rhyno and Tajiri, who cut a promo on winning the belts. It was definitely a cool feature to do. They have also put up video clips from SmackDown.
The Rock has been getting some coverage online once again, as he appeared on the Australian late night talk show “Rove Love.” The reason for that is him plugging the debut of Walking Tall into Australian theaters. Nothing of note, really, other than an official confirmation from The Rock himself that he won’t be a part of the SmackDown tour of Australia later in the month. Rock did say he is a “RAW man.”
A great column by William Moody (aka Paul Bearer) hit the Internet, and it has been getting coverage on almost every big wrestling site out there. It’s a very interesting read, as Moody discusses his weight loss, and the operation he went through to get there. He also mentions the storyline with the Dudley “family.” You can check it out at Moody’s site, by clicking HERE.
We reported a while ago that Bill Goldberg, alongside Nash, Austin, and others will be a part of Adam Sandler’s new movie, “The Longest Yard.” Bill Goldberg’s official site has already uploaded some pictures, including those two and Bob Sapp. Apparently, Sapp and Goldberg play football inmates in the movie, whereas Nash and Austin portray the roles of prison guards. Quite interesting. You can see pictures HERE.
