WEDNESDAY NEWS UPDATE
Hey all. It’s been quiet as of late, when it comes to the news, but here I am to bring you the latest. Before I begin today’s report, just a reminder that all of our subscribers will be getting the first edition of Inside the Ring Newsletter tonight. It’s the former TBL Newsletter, but with a new twist. We will have a lot in there, and you don’t want to miss that. The first edition is a RAW Roundtable by yours truly and Trevor Hunnicutt. We will be putting a lot of news coverage in the newsletter, and we will be providing you with some great features, such as the “Hot Topic,” a Q & A session where you can send us any questions you might have related to wrestlers, and in the future we will be adding bonus features (That promised TNA conversation from Soundoff will be in there), pictures, perhaps even matches, and much more. You do NOT want to miss it. If you haven’t subscribed to our newsletter yet, I strongly recommend that you do. For more information, visit this page — TBL Newsletter.
Since I didn’t get the opportunity to post my RAW Coverage yesterday, you can still get that by subscribing to the Newsletter. So, there’s the first perk! Now to the news!
Word is going around the Internet that this week’s edition of SmackDown is supposed to be on a much higher level as compared to what the show has been doing recently. I have to say that I find that newsbit very interesting, and I’m looking forward to the show, myself.
I don’t know if you read this the other day or not, but DirecTV will not be providing NWA-TNA PPVs for the month of July, and perhaps even more. It’s quite the situation. Head over to their site for more information.
WWE announced a huge UK expansion today, by saying they will be providing more live events, TV coverages, and a little “extra” to our UK friends. Let’s see what they deliver.
WWE has announce the locations for their two October PPVs. That’s another experiment that they’re doing with their PPV dates, following the three PPVs in six weeks ordeal that we just went through. The October 3 PPV (my birthday, not that anyone cares), No Mercy, will take place in Washing, D.C., and from what I understand it’s supposed to be a SmackDown event. Also, the October 19 PPV (word has it that it’ll be Halloween Havoc) is listed as a RAW event to take place from Milwaukee, WI.
Vince McMahon is on ESPN’s list of 25 Most outrageous figures in sports for the past 25 years. I bet that made his day.
Hulk Hogan will be doing Best Damn Sports Show this upcoming Friday. Check your local listings for more information.
In other “appearances” news, Edge left an impact on a lot of fans during his autograph session in Regina. He went out of his way to make everyone feel special there, and really left a lot of people feeling great for attending.
To wrap up the appearances news, Ric Flair’s episode of Off The Record has been rescheduled for July 27. Flair will also be a guest on the Between the Ropes radio show in Orlando, FL, tonight at 10 PM.
Eric Bischoff and JBL will be on Byte This! tomorrow. This should be interesting.
Injury Updates:
— Eddie Guerrero hurt one of his hamstrings over the weekend but has tried to gut it out, and work through the injury. He has been working with a lot of pain as of late, but continues to fight through it.
— Vince McMahon is back on the road with WWE following his health problems last week.
— It seems like the neck injury Test has is quite serious. After plenty of time away from the ring, he tried working house shows this weekend, but the pain immediately returned, and he was taken off the cards. He might need fusion surgery from Dr. Youngblood.
— Trish Stratus will miss up to six weeks of action due to her broken hand. No surgery will be required for now.
— Matt Hardy is still working through his knee injury, and things aren’t getting better on that front. He’s pretty banged up, but managing to work through it. If it doesn’t improve, he’ll be getting his knee scoped following SummerSlam.
— Garrison Cade dislocated his kneecap in the Friday house show, but worked through it. He will be getting it checked this week.
— A-Train has a tore in one of his rotator cuffs, and will be out of action for quite some time because of it.
That will do it for this edition of N & A. Thanks for reading everyone.
