The following news tidbits are from Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. You can obtain subscription information at WrestlingObserver.com

- WWE Raw head writer Brian Gewirtz has canceled his summer vacation. The feeling is with the lackluster ratings he doesn’t want to miss a show since Vince McMahon is more open to outside suggestions when the product isn’t doing well.

- The latest WWE CD is considered to be a big flop, as in week three, it only sold 5,897 units and fell to number 113 on the charts leaving the total sales (minus Wal-Mart) at $32,257.

- WWE will be releasing a SummerSlam anthology DVD on August 5th.

I wonder how the CD is doing on iTunes… it seems that a lot of people are more content on just purchasing their music online because not only is it cheaper in a direct way, it cuts down costs on gas consumption to physically go to a retailer and purchase the CD. I don’t know if anyone else is like this, but I know when I go to somewhere like Wal-Mart or Best Buy, I can go in for one thing and leave with 20 things, most of them unneeded!

  2. Joe Says:

The head writer should have continued his vacation plans. Anyone could write a crappy show like he does.

And here I am thinking it’d be commendable to cancel my vacation!! Me and the other monkeys, that is.

  4. Joe Says:

    I knew it…
