XWA Goldrush

Saturday February 2 , The Morecambe Dome, Morecambe

Attendance - 400

Results

El Ligero beat Spud, ‘Bombay Dream’ Ross Jordan and The Juice in an elimination match to retain the British Flyweight Title, lastly pinning Spud. Afterwards Spud momentarily lost his cool and shoved Ligero, but then apologised and challenged Ligero to a singles match for the title at XWA War On The Shore on April 12.

‘Dangerous’ Damon Leigh beat Declan O’Connor by submission to the STF

Sam Slam pinned Stixx (with Stevie Knight) when Knight’s interference backfired

‘The Wonderkid’ Jonny Storm pinned Brett ‘The Kraft’ Meadows to retain the British Heavyweight Title, despite being attacked with a chair shot by Johnny Phere before the match started

Stevie Knight won the 15-man Goldrush rumble, lastly eliminating Sam Slam, to become the number one contender to the British Heavyweight Title. The finish incited a near-riot in The Dome, because referees had not seen fans’ hero Sam Slam earlier throw Stevie Knight over the top rope due to an outside-ring brawl between Jonny Storm and Johnny Phere. Fans pelted Stevie Knight, the referee, XWA owner Greg Lambert and the ring with rubbish in amazing scenes as the show ended.

It will now be Jonny Storm v Stevie Knight for the British Heavyweight Title at XWA War On The Shore at The Dome, April 12.

Other Notes

Tickets on sale now by calling 01524 582803, doors 7pm.

Mad Man Manson made his debut in The Dome at Goldrush, where he hilariously managed to get The Morecambe Raffle and the Goldrush Rumble mixed up….

Stixx turned on Stevie Knight during the rumble, delivering an illegal piledriver and walking out on him because Stevie had backstabbed Stixx, eliminating him from the rumble.
